Who locked my phone?
Well, today marks the one-year anniversary of when I bought my Samsung Focus Windows Phone. With this celebration comes an odd problem. I ran into the following error when I tried to debug an application on my device this evening:
Failed to connect to device as it is developer locked
What? How did this happen? I've been deploying apps to my phone for a year now. Why did it stop all of a sudden? I tried unlocking it a few times through the Windows Phone Developer Registration tool that comes with the Windows Phone SDK. I even closed and restarted VS and Zune, and it kept reporting the same error. I hopped on over to the App Hub to see if my device was still listed as an unlocked device at my account profile page under the "Devices" tab. There it was, but the unlock date and expiration date were both set to today's date, November 8, 2011. To fix this, I had to remove the device through App Hub and then use the developer registration tool to unlock it again. Now it's unlocked for another year. I guess I'll have to do this again on November 8, 2012. I hope I remember how!
